Archiving Policy

Digital Preservation

Digital preservation refers to the processes and activities implemented to ensure the long-term and uninterrupted accessibility of all digital content published by the MAC Law Review. The Journal is committed to maintaining a secure, redundant, and globally accessible digital archive of all published materials.

Website Archiving

All electronic content, including the journal website, published articles, metadata, and submission files, is stored on multiple secure servers.

  • The primary server remains online 24/7, ensuring continuous access for readers and authors.
  • Identical backup copies are maintained on at least two independent servers.
  • In the event of a technical failure, the backup servers are activated, restoring full website functionality within 24 hours.

This redundancy strategy ensures data integrity, minimises downtime, and preserves the continuity of scholarly communication.

Long-Term Preservation

To guarantee permanent digital preservation, the full text of all published articles is archived in multiple international preservation systems, including:

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • PKP Preservation Network (PN)

These systems ensure that all content remains accessible worldwide, even in the event of data loss or technological obsolescence.

Author Archiving Rights

In alignment with the Journal’s open-access policy, authors are fully permitted and encouraged to archive their published work as follows:

  • Authors may deposit the published version (Version of Record) of their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic sharing platforms, provided that full bibliographic details and a link to the official publication on the MAC Law Review website are included.
  • Authors may also share preprints or accepted manuscripts before publication, provided they clearly indicate that the work has been accepted for publication in the MAC Law Review.

This policy promotes the widest possible dissemination and accessibility of research while maintaining the integrity and citation of the original publication.
